The volume of entries to the competition was high and the sheer creative quality of submissions blew us all away, but after much deliberation we have chosen the trailer we want to officially represent Burned in the UK.

To celebrate the release of Burned –book seven in your absolute favourite vampire series, House of Night– we here at houseofnightseries.co.uk have teamed up with MyBliss and Sugarscape to offer you the chance to create the Official UK Video Trailer for Burned!

The winning trailer will appear in a future news post here on www.houseofnightseries.co.uk, and as part of a special feature article on both www.mybliss.co.uk and www.sugarscape.com.

As if that wasn’t enough, the creator of the best trailer and six runners-up will also receive a veritable cornucopia of House of Night goodies (namely a hardback copy of Burned, a complete set of House of Night series coloured-edges collectors’ edition paperbacks, a House of Night series t-shirt, a Dark Daughters necklace donated by P.C. Cast herself, and a House of Night series tote bag all worth over £100!)

Burned sees High Priestess Zoey Redbird take a somewhat unscheduled vacation in the underworld. With evil immortal Neferet keen to keep her there, it looks as though Zoey’s luck might be about to run out!

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is create a unique video trailer for the UK edition of Burned and upload it to your favourite online video sharing website.

Once you’ve uploaded your trailer, come straight back here and complete the entry form below – not forgetting to include a link to your trailer, wherever it is hosted on the web, in the field provided. Your trailer will then be reviewed by Atom (the lovely team of publishers who bring you the House of Night series).

Please note: This competition is only open to residents of the UK and Ireland aged 13+ at the time of entering. And if you are younger than 16 years of age, you must get the permission of a parent or guardian to enter the competition.

You can only submit your trailer by providing us with the link to where we can find it on the internet (as stipulated above and in the Terms and Conditions). Do not attempt to send your trailer to us as an email attachment – (we’ve been reliably informed that any emails sent to us with attachments on them are likely to be grabbed by our spam-filters and deleted).

Terms and Conditions

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully. They’re here for your protection as well as ours and you will have to agree to abide by them before you can enter the competition.

1. This is competition for the best trailer for Burned by P.C and Kristin Cast (the Book), published by Atom.
2. Entrants must make a trailer for the Book and send us a link to where we can find the trailer on the Internet, using the entry form on the House of Night website. No other form of entry to the competition will be accepted. If videos are attached to emails sent to us they will be blocked and/or deleted immediately.
3. The trailer must be no more than sixty seconds long and must comprise your own original work. It must not use any material which is defamatory, obscene or in any way offensive or unlawful. Nor must it include material in which other people own the copyright or include others’ brand names or trade marks.
4. The winner will be selected by employees of Little Brown Book Group (The Judges) from the entries received in accordance with Paragraph 2 and 3.
5. The winner’s trailer will be posted on the House of Night UK website, Sugarscape.com and MyBliss.co.uk. Entering this competition will be taken as your agreement that your entry can be used in this manner.
6. The winner and six runners up (also to be selected by the Judges from the entries) will receive a hardback copy of Burned, a complete set of House of Night series coloured-edges collectors’ edition paperbacks, a House of Night series t-shirt, a Dark Daughters necklace and a House of Night series tote bag.
7. The Judges’ decision is final.
8. The prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
9. There is no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
10. The competition opens at 12 noon GMT on 29 April 2010 and closes at 12 noon GMT on 28 May 2010 (the Closing Date). Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the competition.
11. Entries must be received on or before the Closing Date.
12. The competition is open to all residents in the UK and Ireland aged 13 or over except employees of Little, Brown Book Group Limited, their families, or anyone professionally connected to the competition either themselves or through their families.
13. If you are younger than 16 years of age, you must have consent from your parent or guardian before entering the competition.

As we are sure you all know Burned, book 7 in your absolute-favourite-vampire-series-in-the-world-ever, is published on 27 April and (obviously, obviously) it is going to be fantastic!!! UK publishers Atom, however, have decided that fantastic just ain’t good enough. No, Atom want to make the publication of Burned even more exciting for you! So, to tie in with the UK launch of House of Night 7, Atom will be publishing some very snazzy coloured-edged collector’s editions of the first six books in the series (and yes, that includes a particularly fetching paperback edition of Tempted!!!)

As a special January treat we got our design team to show you what these are going to look like but – trust us – they look much more amazing in person. These are definitely copies you’re going to want on your shelves!

House of Night Team

As you might expect from the dynamic duo, these were book signings with bite! The events saw P.C and Kristin giving advice to aspiring young authors and awarding prizes to the fans who asked the most original and interesting questions. They spoke frankly about the real life inspirations for characters and locations in the novels, talked a little about which of her many love interests Zoey may end up with, and there were even some teeny tiny hints about what’s in store for Zoey and the gang in Tempted. And tempted we were (lucky there are only five short weeks until Tempted is released in October, really!)

For those of you who couldn’t make it to the events (and for those of you who could and are just eager to remember) here are some photos, videos and highlights to keep you satisfied!

Events:

Waterstone’s York and Manchester

The tour got off to an amazing start. Fans in Manchester and York gave the authors a truly spectacular welcome! P.C. and Kristin were greeted by screaming young (and not so young) ladies in full Dark Daughters get up, complete with some seriously cool vamp tattoos! The authors took time out to give this interview to the UK HON fansite and one lovely York based fan even made this very well put together video! (Thank you!)

Ramsgate Library, Kent

By the end of this event the whole room was literally hanging on P.C.’s words. Kent TV press at Ramsgate’s newly revamped library were so beguiled by P.C. and the House of Night series they even put together the above video to document day three of the House of Night book tour. There is talk of Zoey and co coming to the UK, so in Ramsgate P.C. began her character research with a portion of good old fish and chips on the waterfront!

Scotland

In Scotland P.C. and Kristin began their character research in earnest. Not a Scottish pagan site was left unturned … Check out the above, perfect location to cast a Full Moon Ritual circle, no?

London

In London P.C. and Kristin dropped into Sugar magazine for a live webchat. In just under an hour they received over 500 questions! Click here for full transcript!  The author’s UK publisher, Atom, sent them off in style with a high glamour high tea! Godiva chocs and bespoke organic cupcakes were had by all!
